President Donald Trump attacked the Black Lives Matter (BLM) movement calling it a Marxist organization, while presidential hopeful Joe Biden condemned rioting and looting that has spread across the country, particularly places like Portland, Chicago, and Kenosha, in the wake of protests of the police killing of George Floyd. Top Democrats are afraid Trump's law and order messaging and promise to send in federal troops and the national guard could sway the election in his favor. So Democrats are taking a harder line on what was once defended as mostly peaceful protests.
